Itinerary

December 3  - Columbus OH - A Day to Meet Exchange Students and Chaperones– Arrive (on your own) after 10:00 am at our hotel near Columbus Airport. Students flying in (on own) will be transported to hotel (please arrive before 4:00 pm if possible).  We will have a meeting and pizza party tonight starting at 6:30 pm. If you arrive later you might miss the pizza party where we get to know each other and go over the details on the trip. We have to get ready for our departure early tomorrow morning.  (D)

 

December 4  -  Orangeburg, South Carolina, A Fun Traveling Day With Great Scenery - This morning we'll leave from Columbus Ohio as we start our adventure to Orlando Florida. Today is a beautiful drive through Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and into  South Carolina with frequent stops. Tonight we'll stay in Orangeburg, South Carolina, just south of Charlotte North Carolina. (CB)

 

December 5 - Disney World, Kissimmee, Florida , A Short Drive And Then Some Fun In Downtown Disney.  - This morning we'll drive past Charleston SC and into Georgia and into Florida.  We'll arrive early enough to check into our Hotel and then we'll  explore "Downtown Disney" a shopping and entertainment Complex on the grounds of the famous Walt Disney World Resort.  This is a great place to shop and take in the Disney atmosphere and is right next to our hotel.  (CB)

 

December 6 - Disney EPCOT Center/Walt Disney World , Learn About Science, The World, While Having An Amazing Fun Day- Begun as Walt Disney’s  Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, it has evolved into an celebration of science and the world.  Enjoy attractions like Soarin’, which simulates hang gliding over California; The Seas with Nemo and Friends;  Spaceship Earth;  Mission Space; Illuminations-Reflections of Earth;  The American Adventure; Captain EO  starring Michael Jackson;  Circle of Life from “The Lion King”; Ellen’s Energy Adventure; Innovations;  Maelstrom; Universe of Energy; and Pavilions from England, Canada, Morroco, and many more countries from around the world.  This will be an exciting and fun day of learning and adventure. Tonight we'll enjoy the illuminations and fireworks.  (CB)

December 7 -  Magic Kingdom/Walt Disney World, Home of Mickey Mouse and still the World's Premier Theme Park. An Unforgettable Day – Spend the day exploring the wonderings of this world-class theme park.  Have your picture taken with any of the famous Disney characters, enjoy great shows and the beautiful daily parade. Ride on some of the most famous rides in the world.  We'll stick around until the amazing fireworks which are a nightly occurrence. Bring your inner child. (CB)

 

December 8  - Universal Studios featuring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Diagon Alley, An Fun Day at America's Hottest Theme Park - This is the hottest ticket in Florida. Go to Hogwarts and be a Gryffindor for a day. Have a butter beer at the Three Broomsticks, buy some candy at Honeydukes,  enjoy a flight on a hippogriff (roller coaster), and take the dragon challenge (another roller coaster based on the tri-wizard tournament).  Hop  the Hogwart's Express and visit Diagon Alley with Gringotts and some exciting new rides. Enjoy a complete day of fun with everyone's favorite wizard.   There are so many things to do at this marvelous park.  Explore the Marvel Superhero Island for your favorites and some terrific movie themes and intense roller coasters. You can also step right into the pages of the children’s books of Dr. Seuss in Seuss Landing. (CB)

December 9  -  Orangeburg, SC, Leaving Florida, We Have A Wonderful Stop at one of America's Most Beautiful Cities, Savannah - This morning we'll drive up the east coast of Florida. A fun stop to explore the unique and beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia.  Savannah is one of the most picturesque an historic cities in the United States.  Incredible little shops, ancient buildings and 22 of the most beautiful little parks (called Squares) in the country.   This evening we'll be staying in Orangeburg, South Carolina area. December 10 –  Home – We drive home after a great trip.  Your family should pick you up around 6:00 p.m. (CB) 

Students flying in (Air Fare is NOT included on this tour) will stay overnight and leave the next morning December 11. Please schedule your flight before 12:00 noon on December 11.

Send a deposit of $490 with you application.  (make checks payable to McMurray Travel Service all payments must be in U.S. funds made drawn on a U.S. bank). Mail your check or money order to:  McMurray Travel Service, 6480 Dobson Sq. E., Columbus Ohio 43229.  BALANCE of $400 IS DUE 60 days before departure, October 3, 2016.  Please put student's name and RotDisney in Memo of check or money order.  (No international checks or credit cards.  We prefer not to take wire transfers but can do it.) We can accept Paypal to email address bill.mcmurray@gmail.com. If you are waiting for money, send your application to hold your spot.  Then send your deposit as soon as you can. A deposited application will supersede an undeposited application.

  While every effort has been made to guarantee our tour prices for 2016-17, due to recent oil price increases and fluctuations each tour may be subject to airline and motorcoach fuel surcharges before departure).  We sincerely regret this, and do our best to avoid it if at all possible.

 

Cancellation Penalties: Individual tour members canceling from the tour for any reason will be charged the following percentages of the tour price. 60-15 days prior (October 3 - November 22, 2016)  25% of tour cost plus applicable supplier penalties, 14 Days prior (Nov. 23, 2016 at 5:00pm EDT)  until return 100% of tour cost per participant. Travel insurance is highly recommended.  No shows are non-refundable.

Where to Meet the Trip

 

IF YOU DRIVE TO COLUMBUS

If you want to drive to Columbus, arrive on December 3 before 6:00pm and are picked up December 10 at 6 pm.  If you are from Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan, or Ontario, We recommend creating a carpools to ride to Columbus.  Pick up and drop are are at the same hotel, Best Western Plus Port Columbus Airport, 1450 Airpointe Dr., Columbus OH 43219.   The hotel is located north, off the Cassady Ave. Exit off I-670, just west of the airport.   The hotel is located just to the  Northeast of the exit (you can't miss it).

Ohio-Erie is a Rotary Multi-District which includes parts of OH, MI, ON, KY, NC, TN, WV

If you are coming from outside Central Ohio or related areas,  remember that no flights are included in the cost of this tour. We ask that you make reservations either on line or with a local travel agent.  Please arrive as early as possible on December 3 and leave earliest available flight December 11. .  There will be a overnight room charge of $25.00 as well for your hotel.   If you fly arrive on December 3 and leave December 11.   Remember to allot $50-60 for luggage fees which most airlines require.

 

We urge you to take the earliest flight available from your hometown.  This should keep you from missing the trip due to flight delays and cancellation.  Our bus MUST leave early in the morning and if you can't arrive you may miss the trip.

By clicking on the link above, Travel Guard is offering a inexpensive travel insurance and trip cancellation insurance option. For the Rotary Florida Adventure cost is around $50-$70 (higher if you purchase airfare) and you book it all yourself. our country of residence is the USA or Canada, and your destination is either Ohio or Arizona.   You can pay for this with a credit card, unlike the trip. Travel Insurance is not available if you reside in Washington State or New York State. Prices vary depending on state you are living in.  You can book it yourself using that link above.

 

 

Trip Rooming

If you want to room with specific students please either list them on your application or email Bill McMurray.  There are NO GUARANTEES and rooms may be changed to accommodate other students. Default rooming is normally done by district.  Once all rooms are mostly filled late additions will be placed in available rooms no matter what bus students from you district or your friends are on.  We do limit requests to only one student.  We do mix districts and countries in the room which helps you meet new people.

If we determine that students have not been reading the emails we reserve the right to cancel you off either or both tours at any time. It is important that you read all the emails we send you.  Students have been sent home from this trip because they don't understand information we have sent in the emails.
